On a new build, Sam comes in once the frame is up and the house is wrapped. He runs the cables, sets out the points and locks in where the switchboard goes. After the plasterers are finished, he comes back to fit off, install the switchboard and connect everything up.
For a renovation, Sam walks through with you first. Some of the existing wiring can usually stay and some of it can't. He'll plan the work so you don't open up walls you don't need to.
For a full rewire of an older home, an average three-bedroom house usually takes a few days on site. Sam works room by room, so you can often keep living there.
